Keeping It Sooke!
Protect what we love, and plan wisely for what’s next.
Our town centre should reflect the spirit of Sooke - friendly, welcoming, and people-focused. It should be a place we like to spend time in.
It’s time to move forward with an updated Town Centre Plan. Let's plan for a prospering town centre and waterfront with public space, views, access to the water, and safe, walkable streets that bring our community together.
Work to support local businesses, making it easier to do business in Sooke, through clear, easy to follow policies, reliable infrastructure, and sound financial tax management that doesn't unfairly burden our entrepreneurial spirit.
Growth is inevitable - sprawl isn’t. Let’s guide development in a way that respects Sooke’s natural beauty and small-town character.
We must protect green spaces, forested hills, and public access to the ocean, honouring our identity as “where the rainforest meets the sea.”
New growth should reflect our values and enhance the setting we all love, not chip away at what makes Sooke special.
Through my volunteer work as Chair of Sooke's Official Community Plan Advisory Committee and conversations with hundreds of residents during our 2025 by-election, I heard the same priorities again and again. These shared priorities will guide my work on Council:

Let's make decisions that benefit public interest, not just private.
Let’s protect what makes Sooke special.
Let's make our town centre a place we are proud of.
Beautify Our Town Centre
Keep Sooke Unique
Community-Focused Decision Making
Let’s ground decisions in the priorities our community has already voiced through the Official Community Plan and other guiding documents.
Support forward planning budgeting that offers step by step / year-by-year affordable solutions to our infrastructure challenges, and readies us for the future and inevitable emergencies. Growth needs to pay for growth.
Strengthen connections between municipal departments, community groups, and residents - and regional and federal governments - so that we are using tax dollars efficiently and working together to support the good work already happening in Sooke and the region.
Keeping It Sooke!
Let's protect what we love, and plan wisely for what’s next.
